The Paradox of Comfort and Pain

This series is titled “The paradox of comfort & pain” – a manifestation of a simple wooden chair that supports our comfort when we carry out common tasks, like dining, conversations or plain day-dreaming. But in common tasks that we all perform, it comes with a certain degree of what I term; previous-emotions or unfulfilled thoughts.

Simply say; do we dine & be merry or carry with us the baggage of the day? Hence the chair!

It’s a simple invention that doesn’t just support the physical comfort of the person. It also holds the person’s memories and thoughts. The seat imprints that are left behind on the chair are often of a particular one in our home. We all have that favourite chair, don’t we? That four legged something will always be there to support us.

And why pain?

Interestingly, happiness is often celebrated – standing! This is my story, my chairs, my acrylic works. What’s in your chair?
