Mikie Yap
A native of Kuala Lumpur, She began her training in Art at the Kuala Lumpur College of Art in 1995 graduating with a Diploma in Art and Design. She participated in numerous exhibitions organized by the college throughout 1995 – 1997. She then moved to pursue her Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts)(Honours) in Australia at the University of Ballarat in the year 2001, specializing in mixed mediums and drawing.
Upon returning to Malaysia, she participated in only one formal exhibition organized by Mr.Koay Soo Kow at the gallery Seni Mutiara in Penang where she exhibited her latest collection entitled “Shades of my soul”. A quiet and soft-spoken individual, she has spent a large number of years searching for her true calling and identity and spends her time exploring new mediums and continues to produce engaging pieces of art.
